South African Barritt signs for Saracens

Andy Farrell will look forward to welcoming Brad Barritt to Saracens
Last year's Heineken Cup semi-finalists Saracens have signed South African centre Brad Barritt on a three-year deal from Durban-based Sharks.

The 21-year-old will join the club in November after the Currie Cup, and will count fellow South African, prop Wikus van Heerden, among his new teammates.

Saracens revealed they were delighted to secure the signature of Barritt.
"Bradley's an exciting player and we're delighted he's joining Saracens," director of rugby Eddie Jones said.

"He's a talented footballer who can control games but he also has a physical edge to his game."

Barritt, who has made 58 appearances for the Sharks, was keen to stress that the chance to play in England was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"I want to emphasise the point that I am not turning my back on the Sharks or Springbok rugby," Barritt to the Sharks' website.

"This is a unique opportunity for me as a young player to grow and improve by playing in different conditions."

Barritt is just the latest addition to Saracens' squad over the summer following the arrivals of England lock Steve Borthwick and Wales forward Michael Owen, among others.
