Harlequins sign Australian back-row forward Luke Williamson
Harlequins RL have confirmed the signing of Australian back-row forward Luke Williamson on a two-year deal from Manly Sea Eagles.
The 30-year-old has vast experience of the NRL, having played more than 200 matches for Manly Sea Eagles, Canberra Raiders and Adelaide Rams since his first-grade debut in 1997.
He will join Quins ahead of next season's Super League campaign to boost head coach Brian McDermott's options, especially given his versatility as a capable centre, stand-off, loose forward, second row and hooker.
"We are very pleased and excited about adding Luke Williamson's name to our squad for next year," McDermott explained.
"He will bring a fair amount of grunt blended with the ability to play a bit. On top of that his personality suits what we have going on down here in London."
Williamson said: "I have always dreamed of playing in the Super League and the Challenge Cup.
"I am proud to be joining Harlequins Rugby League in London and look forward to competing at the highest level."
