Chelsea defied the odds to overcome Barcelona and book their place in the Champions League final.

The Blues carried a 1-0 lead into the second leg at Camp Nou last night (April 24th), but they faced a mountainous challenge as Barcelona went 2-0 ahead through goals from Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta.

Chelsea's task was made even more difficult when captain John Terry was shown a straight red card for a petulant knee to the back of Alexis Sanchez when the score was 1-0.

However, the London club fought back and an exquisite chip from Brazilian star Ramires gave them the lead on away goals.

In a breathless encounter, Barcelona's Lionel Messi then missed a penalty, after Chelsea forward Didier Drogba was adjudged to have felled Cesc Fabregas in the area.

After spending much of the game encamped in the own half, the Blues secured their passage to the final in Munich next month, as substitute Fernando Torres burst clear before coolly rounding Victor Valdes in the Barcelona goal to make the score 2-2 on the night.

The Premier League outfit will face the winners of tonight's semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
