Ridley Scott's alien drama Prometheus has topped the UK and Ireland box office for the second week running despite a significant drop-off in interest.
The film, starring Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron, took £3,140,000 over the weekend, which is a 50 per cent decrease on the amount taken last week.
It successfully managed to hold off competition from Men In Black 3 and Snow White and the Hunstman, which both took in over £2 million each.
Horror film The Pack is the only new entry to make it into the top five by raking in £932,000.
Prometheus failed to top the US box office this week, having been beaten out to top spot by the animated sequel Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted.
Meanwhile, Simon Pegg's new comedy A Fantastic Fear of Everything failed to even make the top 15 in its opening weekend. It suffered some poor reviews from critics and opened at number 20 with takings of just £35,400.
