Johnny Depp has confirmed he has split from Vanessa Paradis after 14 years.
The couple have "amicably separated", the Hollywood actor's publicist Robin Baum stated.
Depp, 49 and French singer and actress Paradis, 39, had been the subject of media speculation that their relationship was in trouble.
They never married, but have two children, Lily-Rose and Jack. They met while Depp - famed for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean, Edward Scissorhands and Blow - was filming The Ninth Gate in 1999.
The pair own properties in Los Angeles, France and the Caribbean and were last seen in public together in 2010.
Previous reports that they were to split were dismissed by Depp, who described them as "absolutely not true".
"No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite. I can't say enough about it not being over," he remarked.
Depp's latest movie, Dark Shadows - directed by Tim Burton - was released last month. The pair have worked together extensively in the past, on films such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd.
