At least ten people killed after bomber rams car full of explosives into convoy of Iraqi minister in Baghdad
At least ten people have died after a bomber rammed a car full of explosives into the convoy of an Iraqi minister in central Baghdad.
Labour minister Mahmoud Jawad al-Radi was unhurt in the attack, which took place during rush hour in the capital's Bab al-Sharji district.
According to a Reuters cameraman who filmed the incident but had his videotape confiscated by soldiers, a car drove into a six or seven-strong convoy.
Attacks upon Iraqi politicians have become rarer in recent months but today's suicide blast has the hallmarks of an al-Qaida attack.
Twenty other people were wounded in today's attack, hospital sources said.
