Six people killed in series of bomb attacks in Iraqi capital of Baghdad
Six people have been killed in a series of bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, local authorities claim.
At least 23 other people have been injured in the blasts, including Iraqi deputy oil minister Abdul-Sahib Salman Qutub.
Two bombs exploded in Tahariyat square in central Baghdad during Monday morning's rush hour, causing extensive damage to shops and businesses lining the square.
The AFP news agency reports Mr Qutub suffered minor injuries when a bomb went off at his house as he left for work. His driver was also seriously injured in the attack.
Militants opposed to the US-supported government in Iraq have continued to launch deadly attacks across the country and last week five people were killed and 17 injured in a bomb blast in Baghdad.
